All materials must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Garbage
Collection If one garbage container is not sufficient for your needs, the following optional services are available for additional fees:
One additional 90-gallon
garbage container $2.50/month
Recycling Recycling has been an expensive program that has cost the city an average of $300,000 per year for the past nine years. Many people have thought that the recycling was a money making program, but this has never been the case. Citizens that wish to recycle may take their materials to Gulf Coast Recycling at 1995 Cedar Street. They are located at the corner of Fourth and Cedar streets in Beaumont. Gulf Coast Recycling accepts all grades of paper, #1 & #2 plastic containers and aluminum cans. They have a 24-hour, 7 days a week, recycling drop off center at the front of the plant for your convenience. The City recycles yard waste through our composting program. Approximately 25% of all materials collected at the curb by city trucks is composted and a significant amount of the finished compost is returned to citizens at no cost to them. To compost, yard waste must be separated from all other trash. Please bag your small yard waste (grass, leaves, and small branches) for weekly collection on your garbage collection day. Do not put small yard waste in your garbage can. Separate large yard waste from all other trash for collection twice a month. Separate yard waste and other heavy trash into two different piles. The separation of these materials will allow us to collect yard waste for recycling through the compost program. See sections on Small Yard Waste and Heave Trash/Large Yard Waste for details. The collection and recycling of used motor oil is a service provided by the City. The following section explains the program. Used motor oil and filters generated from "do-it-yourself" oil changes are collected from curbside each garbage collection day. A total of 5 gallons is collected. Please follow these guidelines to ensure that your used motor oil is collected and recycled:
Small Yard
Waste Collection Yard waste is prohibited from being placed in the 90-gallon container. It is very important to separate all yard waste from your garbage. Heavy trash includes large yard waste, furniture, appliances/white goods, and miscellaneous heavy debris. Large Yard Waste

Heavy trash is not collected by city crews from businesses (i.e. churches, offices, stores, apartment building, etc.). This service is only provided to single family residential customers. Heavy trash from any other entity must be transported to the landfill by the generator. Heavy trash collection is not provided for clearing vacant property (i.e. lots, acreage), construction, demolition or renovation/remodeling construction debris. These items must be transported to the landfill by the generator. Citizens with proof of Beaumont residency (i.e. utility bill, driver's license, etc.) will not be charged for landfill disposal if they haul the debris themselves from their single family residences. Contractors such as roofers, lawn services, tree trimmers, etc., will be charged for disposal. There is also a charge for disposal of trash from businesses regardless of who the hauler is. Please place all material at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day (see schedule below). Please note that two days are allowed for each area. All material must be stacked neatly in separate piles and not under low overhead utility lines or trees. Separation of
